Chairman's Message
Once again I have taken up the leadership mantle in NPBCL upon request of our Board Members. These days I am promoting my motto “All Hands – United Together” in Non Resident Nepali Association, where also I have the responsibility of its World President beside my other professional affiliations. I very much look forward to suffice this motto in my responsibility of Chairmanship in this company as well.
We have learnt a great deal of lessons in our endeavor in exercising the Kathmandu – Kulekhani – Hetauda Tunnel Highway Project, the first ever Transport Infrastructure Project of our country Nepal in “Public Private Partnership”. Accordingly, we have suffered a lot in the absence of the cohesive environment and compatible country law and regulations. But we are now very much optimistic as our political agenda after all has been addressed in the country and is also followed by a practice of stable majority government. In this relation, I would like to thank all the political leaders, ministries, line agencies, stakeholders and shareholders of this company for their support and affections. I also need to thank my colleagues in the board for their involvement of untiring efforts and contributions in realizing our dream of this project despite many obstacles and situations.
Today, finally we have our Joint Development Agreement with PowerChina in August, 2018. It was the outcome of a serious and vigorous discussions and negotiations way back from December, 2015 followed by relevant MOU’s, subsequent site visits, project reviews, detailed engineering design modifications and other supporting agreements. We still need to go another mile together. So, we direly need the support of Federal Government of Nepal, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Provincial Government, Local Government, Stakeholders in facilitating the procedures to move ahead this collaboration, bring the FDI in this project, implement and make the project a success. Thereby, we all would be magnifying our contributions in the history by establishing the footprints of creating new frontiers of not only the Infrastructure Development but the Economic Development of this country as well.
I again welcome everyone to join hands with us for the successful implementation and completion of this wonderful and one of its kinds of developmental leap in Nepal. Very soon, we will together realize seeing each other driving together on this highway – “the prosperity road of Nepal”.
